Have you been noticing the number of B2B companies that are thoughtfully embracing social media? Caterpillar Inc is one of those heavy industry giants that is perhaps the last company you could imagine who would be using social media. But use it they are! Caterpillar caught my attention due to the recent purchase of a local Wisconsin-based heavy equipment company, Bucyrus International. Neither are companies that are considered on the forefront of cutting edge Web 2.0 technology or social networking.
