Speaker -Wendy Soucie highlighting a point
I just recently was the presenter at the packed house for Business Connections of Greater Madison inaugural meeting. This is a LinkedIn Group formed in January 2009. Kristin Mastin who started the group on behalf of University of Phoenix – Madison WI campus, was pretty excited to get the first meeting off and provide solid value both in networking and content. We strategically picked a topic that would appeal to everyone who found the group on LinkedIn. LinkedIn Tips and Techniques. It was a big topic and 1 hour doesn’t do it justice.

High Energy – High-Level Networking
I was impressed by the energy in the room. We laughed and got a fair number of questions answered but a few were left unresolved due to time. I have offered to answer those questions emailed to me via several blog posts so be sure to add them either in the comment section or email them directly to Wendy Soucie.
Social Media Tools
Clearly there is a need to understand the social media tools that are available to individuals who are in a job search, business development, human talent and resource management. But have you also considered how great a tool social media can be for co-creation for new product development – yes, let your customers and potential customers steer you to develop the products and services they want. Or ever think about customer service and support using these tools? How many of you have used it yourself to sound off on a bad product, poor service, or incorrect information. Don’t overlook how to use it yourself to save cost, reduce expenses and engage your clients in conversations.
Whatever tool you decide to use and for whatever reason or business goal, please build a strategy and plan your time accordingly. Track and measure your results. That way, if you are not successful, you can determine if you just picked the wrong tool or spent too little time.
